Tired of those pesky balls of yarn getting away from
you? Use a yarn bell! Thread the end of your yarn
through the hole in the top of the bell, pop the ball
under it, and knit to your heart's content.

Plying bowl
German, medieval
6 small bowls to set around the central plying bowl
(the 6-spouted bowl). The theory is that this was used
to take single ply yarn balls (placed in the little bowls)
and then thread each through a corresponding spout.
All strands are fed up through the center opening to be
plyed with a drop spindle. Emma says it works GREAT!
